美國女作家賽珍珠 (Pearl S. Buck, 1892-1973) 是20世紀中美文化交流史上一位重要而獨特的人物。賽珍珠前後在中國生活近40年的特殊經歷使她具有獨特的'雙焦視角'(mentally bifocal [view]), 成為'對現代中國的形成與發展有特殊視角的見證人。1938年賽珍珠主要憑藉《大地》而獲諾貝爾文學獎。這是第一部獲諾貝爾文學獎的中國題材作品, 也是1930年代一部西方描寫中國最有影響力的作品。賽珍珠因此成為1930、40年代西方的中國 '闡釋者'、美國的 '中國最有力的宣傳者'。是次研究報告為本人博士論文的部分內容, 作者以中國形象為基本出發點, 運用形象學有關形象塑造的相關理論以及翻譯學中有關翻譯與民族身份建構之間關係的思想, 討論賽珍珠中國題材小說《大地》的中譯本如何展示中國、重新塑造自我形象, 以及這一重塑的中國形象又如何幫助譯者建構中國人的民族身份、實現自我身份認同 [Go to the full record in the library's catalogue]
