UGC-funded institutions have adopted an outcome-based approach in their preparation of the normative four-year undergraduate curriculum to be introduced in 2012. In most cases a curriculum framework has been established and program-level intended learning outcomes articulated. The next challenge is to ensure that the delivery of the planned curriculum, in terms of the use of innovative pedagogies and assessment strategies, will indeed deliver these outcomes. The objective of this workshop series is to prepare front-line teachers to take up this challenge. With the focus on motivating student learning, the series consists of two three-hour workshops on pedagogies and assessment strategies. Participants will be introduced to specific approaches that have been shown by research to be effective in enhancing student learning, and given an opportunity to develop action plans to adopt these approaches in their teaching.
