With the patented technology and supported by TSSSU, Dr Han has established a company - Hong Kong Authentication Centre of Valuable Chinese Medicines Limited. The company has now gained a firm foothold in the market by collaborating with well-established enterprises in Hong Kong and mainland China. Dr Han will share with us his insights from scientific research into a real business. In addition, he will share his experience on the path of patent application. This is a great opportunity for HKBU staff and students to gain practical tips to succeed in the patent application and commercialisation.

With years of research experience, Dr HAN Quanbin, Simon and his team invented authentication methods to assess the quality of expensive Chinese herbal products. One of these authentication methods has been patented in the US, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. Through these novel inventions, Dr Han and his team won varies awards including the Gold Medal in 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2021.
