The Knowledge Transfer Partnership Project “Promoting Light Volleyball among Middle Aged and Older Adults in Hong Kong” was led by Professor CHUNG Pak-kwong and Dr LEUNG Ka-man from the Department of Physical Education. The project aims at encouraging sufficient physical activity to the older adults in Hong Kong. The research conducted by the team has found that Light Volleyball is a great exercise and it is particularly useful for strengthening muscles to prevent falls. The level of fitness required and the speed of the sport make it suitable for older adults.
With the collaboration between Hong Kong Light Volleyball Association Ltd and Hong Kong Caritas, the team organised two training workshops to the older adults in Hong Kong to disseminate the skills of playing light volleyball.
In the video, Dr Leung introduced the background of light volleyball and the skills of playing light volleyball. Meanwhile, there were some highlights of the light volleyball training courses.
